A reflective melody
in a consistent harmony
As time spins figure eight
on the tip of a silver-threaded needle

In the night it sings

Under the moon it blooms

Celestial MemoriesOn silent lips the words let slip
Subtly dancing on wisps of summer breeze
In the imagination of a sleeping child

Sharp winter light guides doesn't pierce
Snow melting under the sun brings revelation
Of new life hidden within a blade of grass

Like a feather floating in the wind
Drifting from here to there
Happiness everywhere

A candle light flicking in the cold
Illuminating the dark in ways untold
To show the once unseen

My celestial memories drift on a cloud
Sparkle like a star and ride on waves of moonlight

These are my celestial memories.

In BlissCaught in your ocean
riding waves lost in passion
Two souls intertwine

The DiveAn intellectual passion

formed from a spiritual foundation

like a sea merging with an ocean

stars colliding converging into thought

as abstractions take flight to new found heights

in a blissful dive through the black and white

left dizzy waiting to catch a breath

of life on the edge

in the reflective waters

of eternity

reinvigorate

body

mind

and soul.

Sounds of R(e)volutionWhat a clever deception you played
Taking hearts and dividing them into parts
All for financial satisfaction and monetary gain

Did you think that you'd bribe your way through the gate?
Or maybe that you'd buy a plane ticket and fly straight to heaven?

Well I have a message for you
Heavens not something that can be bought
put in a pretty little package and marked up at wholesale
and the sound of those beating hearts, that's the chisel to your grave

Capitalistic, corporate scum
The people are NOT toys to be bought and sold, The people ARE the world
Our blood, sweat and tears are what make it

The night the stars left me breathlessWatch as time paints a scene
a tone of blue for a black
as the sky trades a day for a night
and I a prayer for a light
Stars rest along the horizon
countless infinite lights
cradled deep within the night
singing ancient hymns within the open mind
Sheets of winter snow fade under the street lamps
as the scent of spring blossoms along currents in the wind
and the drops of rain wash away the dirt, take away this pain
and leave nothing but amazing behind
Take a deep breath and listen to your heart
as the rhythm flows in and out
look up into the night sky and watch the stars as they oscillate off and on
and realize they really aren't that far from where you stand
(The night the stars left me breathless) is the night I understood that I didn't have a reason to live - I had too many to count.

We stood at the altar
In the fresh aesthetics of spring
You took my hand in yours
And slid on that fateful ring

I wore a fair dress
Clothed in a flurry of white
The poison smile
On my wedding, the only blight

So beautiful it was
My dress stained red
Our passion unbidden
I took off your head

We promised love
Till death do us part
And it shall
For your head, take my heart

My dear, my darling
Forget me not
Honor our righteous vows
And love me till I rot

Blissfully content
We vowed forever
Let my love
Bury us together

DreamscapesCaught on a tight-rope between moon beams
somewhere hidden within a dream

A landscape of stars scatter at the touch of the brush
only to come together in a spiral that dances in a dizzying rush

Teetering neither to the right nor to the left
playing a game of balance tip-toeing just on the center line

Watching the metronome swing as two stars collide and intertwine
creating an explosion in iridescent hues and a fusion of harmonic tunes

As I catch a drift off a comet's tail and free-fall through the center
to wake up in bed and realize its all just a dream...

Jazz ClubThe heavy warmth

Lies on me like sleep,

And sleep is catching.

Symbols crash, and brass trumpets

Glint and wail, half cast reflections

Of the dancer’s sparkled spinning tail.

I lie back, seeing the club so vividly,

While the aroma of dark coffee wafts in,

My mind intoxicated by swinger’s pack.

PoetryPoems baffle me,
leaving stanza-shaped
headaches.

Rhythm & rhyme
& counting syllables;
Who has the time?

Shakespeare and I
argue in sonnets,
but heroic,
my couplets are not.

I copy down
limericks &
paste them to
my friends' laughter.

Reciting haikus
makes me seem
smarter,
but I don't know
what I'm talking about.

I wrote abecedarians
on mother's days
over traced handprints,
but she threw them away
when I turned
seventeen.

Any other forms,
I don't know,
I always focused on
prose.

If I wrote a verse,
with a drying pen
& a paper
covered in math,
it would have a touch of
free.

I buried my soul
in a casket of wo

SoundlessRising upwards,
hot air and sky become one -
the kettle never boils.

Summer evening,
crickets
and the full moon.

Summer,
origami frog
belly up.

SkyTo an ocean-eyed boy:
When the sky gets grey
Colour my grey skies blue

Paper airplanes
Brush the sky
Empty skies

To an ocean-eyed boy:
Upon grey skies
Of poetry and of dreams

Snowfield of the sky

jolted awake at 2 amdark, aseschylean chorus
forming words that make no sound;
fell, silent antagonist's
sere, apocalyptic rounds;
the veil, herein, being rent:
inconceivably profound.

standing as witness
to mute glossolalia
lost to translation.

It's 2am and still you have not come,
I look around and not a sound is found.

You've graced my neighbors and friends and family too but yet I still remain,
Have you forsaken me?

Maybe I closed my door a tad too tight,
Maybe I should have left a light on...

But come back for round 2 because I think you may have missed me!

Chain of LiesShackles made of green worn freely by all I see,
Consuming until trapped under their own weight,

How many choices do you need? Can't you see it'd be easy if there were but two?

Shackles no stronger than strands of hair,
Bind even the mighty kings and brings them to their knees,

Diluter of the rich, suppressor of the poor.

Shackles engraved with words like liberty and in god we trust,
Confuse even the nimble of mind and the light of heart.

How can we be free when the very thing we believe makes us free binds us?

Silent FallThoughts disappear like the leaves of a great oak tree,
Drifting away on Autumn wind,
Leaving nothing behind but a river filled with stars.

A heavenly ballet sung on the far end of a Milky Way
Mysterious lights that guide us through the night
A flowing motion that has stemmed from the very beginning of time Eternal

When the universe was created the Stars were there
In the dark of night they are the light
Weaving dreams with a silken thread

Want to know the mysteries of the Stars
Look for the light that shines behind your eyes
and you realize that the mystery is You

This is why everyone is so interested in the Stars.
